B&B Termite Treatments

Liquid Termite Treatment Subterranean termite infestations can be treated several ways. Soil treatments are the most common. This involves treating soil around the perimeter of the affected home or buildings. For maximum effectiveness, we treat using the #1 rated Termidor to get under foundations, concrete slabs and patios to reach colonies in these otherwise inaccessible locations. Termidor HP treatments require no drilling and no trenching, in most cases.

Baiting Treatment –  B & B also offers Sentricon Colony Elimination System, self-contained bait stations that are installed below the ground. These systems contain chemicals that prevent the termites from molting and continuing their lifecycle. As workers consume the bait and die, the colony gradually collapses.

Once your home or office has been treated and a warranty has been placed on the structure, our highly trained Pest Management Professionals will monitor your home or office annually to make sure you stay protected. Our team will inspect for any evidence of current activity and look for conducive areas, drainage problems or leaks that could potentially attract termites. Our inspections are beneficial to lower the chance of recurrences. If you suspect that termites are eating you out of house and home, contact us at (904) 389-3323 for a free inspection.

Florida is home to many termites. The most common are Subterranean Termites, Drywood Termites, Formosan Termites, and the new Conehead Termites.

Drywood Termites

Drywood termites live in and feed off dry wood. Their moisture comes from air humidity and the wood they eat. They can enter your home by swarming from nearby structures or you can unknowingly bring them into your home. This is why it is important to inspect items such as furniture, cabinets, wood, and hardwood floors before bringing them into your home. Common entry points for swarming termites would be through the wood joints under your eaves, crawlspaces, attics, doorframes, cracks around windows, or cracks or knots in wood siding. There are fewer Drywood termites in a colony, but they are larger in size compared to Subterranean Termites and they do not create mud tubes or need to come in contact with soil to live.

If you’re not sure which type of termites you possibly have, contact B&B Exterminating to perform a free inspection. Don’t let termites cost you thousands of dollars in structural damage.

Eastern Subterranean Termites

Subterranean termites are formidable pests that are difficult to treat and control. They develop massive underground colonies that spread like wildfire, leaving behind billions of dollars’ worth of structural damage each year. Reproductive termites swarm in the spring, and workers stay busy constructing mud tubes that direct millions of cellulose-eating bugs to new food sources, including your home. Experts estimate that these bugs damage more homes than all natural disasters combined.

Unfortunately, most homeowners don't realize that they have a termite problem until the bugs swarm. Warm indoor temperatures excite termites and can even cause them to swarm in the winter. Because many termite infestations go unnoticed, it's important to have regular inspections. Our licensed termite and structural pest experts have the knowledge, tools, and appropriate insecticides to treat the problem.

Formosan Termites

Formosan termites are a very aggressive and invasive subterranean termite that causes significant damage. The larger colony sizes and aggressive forging behaviors make them much more destructive than the native U.S. subterranean termite. Formosans can chew through non-wood materials like pipes but feed on anything wood-based. They require moisture to live and are known for travelling above ground. Their nests are built in the walls of structures and beneath trees. They have been found in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Texas, Arizona, California, and Hawaii but continue to spread.

In springtime, be on the lookout for Formosan termites. They will leave their nests and swarm to make new colonies. The swarmers are attracted to light and typically swarm in the evenings between April to July.
